# Follow-ups & thank-you notes

> Three moments: after the interview, after silence, after a rejection.
> One email, one goal. No blame, no manufactured urgency.

## 1. The day after the interview (within 24 hours)

**Subject:** Thanks for yesterday's conversation — [First Last]

Hi [First name],

Thank you for your time yesterday. The discussion about [specific technical topic] confirmed
my interest: [one line showing you listened, not recited].

On [the point you fumbled / the open question]: [your full answer, 2-3 lines].
I thought it over, and here's what I'd propose.

Happy to move forward whenever you are.

## 2. Follow-up after silence (day 7 to 10, once)

**Subject:** Following up on [role] — [First Last]

Hi [First name],

Quick check on the [job title] role: do you have visibility on the next step?

For context, [factual, useful element: another process moving, changed availability,
current engagement ending] — I'd rather tell you than go quiet.

Thanks,

## 3. After a rejection (send it, really)

**Subject:** Thank you — and feedback if possible

Hi [First name],

Thank you for getting back to me, and for the time you spent.

If you have two minutes: what made the difference with the profile you picked?
Honest feedback is useful to me and I'll take it as such.

If a front-end need comes back in a few months, I'm still interested.
